Clean Cooking: Peanut Butter Cups

Last weekend I wanted to make some clean treats so I didn’t feel as guilty while indulging and I decided to make a clean version of Reeces Peanut Buttercups. You only need 3 ingredients for this recipe and they taste unreal!

Ingredients:

Chocolate Portion:

  • 250g of organic dark chocolate 85% Cocoa (I used a brand called Greens & Blacks)
  • 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil

Peanut Portion:

  • 230g of good quality peanut butter (I used a brand called Mayver’s)
  • 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil

Depending on how clean you want these treats to be or even just to switch things up for a different taste you can switch up the ingredients and use different types of nut butter such as almond butter.

 

Make sure to use a good quality nut butter that contains very few ingredients.

Method:

  1. Melt your chocolate in a bowl and add the coconut oil
  2. Pour the chocolate into your cake tin leaving a small bit left over to drizzle on top at the end
  3. Place in the freezer to cool
  4. Mix the peanut butter in a bowl with the melted coconut oil
  5. Pour on top of the chocolate layer
  6. Drizzle the remaining melted chocolate over the peanut layer
  7. Place in the freezer to harden
  8. Once hard they can be moved to the fridge
