My Least Favourite Beauty Products of 2015

Hi Everyone,

I usually talk about products that I genuinely love or like but always mention the bad points or things to consider if there are any. I very rarely talk about the products that don’t work for me but I’m going to tell you a little bit about the products that didn’t work for me in 2015 and the reasons why.

Please keep in mind that although these didn’t work for me, they may work for you. I’ve read other posts like this and some products mentioned would be on my favourites list so keep an open mind!

In 2015 I had a lot of bad luck with foundations. I’ve tried so many and the only ones that worked for me were Estee Lauder Double Wear and Makeup Forever HD.

The ones that didn’t work for me are the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, Revlon Colorstay Foundaion for dry skin and Benefit Oxegen WOW foundation.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Gel Foundation

I really wanted to like this because I’ve seen a couple of bloggers rave about it. It just didn’t work for me though. It broke up around my nose and forehead and I had to powder my T-Zone more than a couple of days. This just didn’t last on my skin at all. I tried primer, no primer and different primers but nothing really worked. I also didn’t like the fruity smell either.

One of my favourite products from Bourjois this year was the Shine Edition lipsticks so if you’re interested click here.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Dry Skin

I really like the Photoready foundation and because this was specifically tailored to my skin type I thought this would be my new holy grail but sadly it just wasn’t to be. Again, I tried this is a couple of different way but it just didn’t work for me. This one just disintegrated to nothing!

One of my favourite products from Revlon this year was the highlighting palette so if you’re interested click here.

Benefit Oxygen Wow Foundation

Unfortunately I found this oxidised on my face and went slightly orange on me. It also slips off my face within a couple of hours. This one just didn’t work for me.

One of my favourite products from Benefit this year was Porefessional so if you’re interested click here.

Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara

I didn’t hate this product but I was really disappointed because it was so expensive. I’m a massive fan of Estee Lauder products but this one just didn’t make the good list. I found the wand to be too long and the brush too long. It didn’t make a massive difference to my lashes and it was over $50.

My holy grail foundation is Estee Lauder Double Wear so if you’re interested in seeing this then click here.

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer

I know a lot of people love this concealer but this just doesn’t sink into my skin at all. I find it hard to blend and it creases under my eyes too. This one is just not for me.

One product that I loved this year was the Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil. It’s cheap as chips. Click here for more info.

  1. It’s refreshing to hear about the products that didn’t work for beauty bloggers rather than just the products they loved! It gives a more balanced view. I have the Estee Lauder Sumptusous Extreme mascara but am yet to open it. Fingers crossed it suits me.

  2. Nice to here an honest review. I’ve loved the Natio Lip Shine in Rose bud. But didn’t really like the L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in 603 due to lack of lasting power

  3. I have the healthy mix foundation and the benefit oxygen one. I like the healthy mix but as you said about the benefit one its not great. Great post!
