Make Up For Ever HD Foundation Review: Picture Perfect Skin

Hi Girls,

HD foundations are big this year and everyone is trying to avoid the blinding ‘white face’ in pictures on a special day (or selfies!)  so today I’m going to be talking  about the Makeup Forever HD foundation. Nothing usually compares to my holy grail Estee Lauder double wear but I honestly love the Makeup Forever HD foundation so much for so many different reasons. This foundation really works so keep reading for the full review and information on where to get it!

Product Claims:

‘The HD range includes complexion products designed for the new needs of high definition image using very fine ingredients for an invisible, natural makeup finish’.

‘The MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Complexion products use innovative formulas to create a new generation of makeup which is both invisible on HD cameras and to the naked eye. HD Foundation combines flawless coverage and an extremely natural finish’.
‘The Sericite contained in HD Foundation heightens the diffusion of light and intensifies the glow of the skin.
Enriched with moisturizing agent, HD Foundation moisturizes and prepares the skin for makeup. Its usually smooth and elastic texture makes it easy to apply and a pleasure to wear. Skin texture is refined to give a very natural complexion’.

‘HD Foundation is an oil-free medium-to-full coverage liquid foundation which covers skin imperfections, while remaining invisible on-screen and in real life. It is available in a wide range of shades to suit all skin tones’.

My Thoughts:

This foundation is medium coverage that can be built to full. One layer doesn’t cover all my blemishes but I find applying another layer over problem areas works really well. The finished look is natural and sheer. It feels comfortable and really light weight on the skin.

This foundation is quick drying but really easy to work with. I love the fact it dries quickly because I like to apply my base pretty quickly so waiting before building up coverage can be annoying, luckily not the case with this one!

The special thing about this foundation is  obviously the HD formula.  The big question is if this really works and the answer is a massive yes! This foundation looks  flawless even under light. It’s the perfect foundation for wearing to events or for a special occasion so if you use this you can say goodbye to having ‘white face’ in all your pictures!

The important thing to remember with this foundation is that it doesn’t contain any sun protection so if you’ll need sun protection underneath.

My skin is quite dry at the moment and I didn’t find the foundation sticking to any of my dry patches but I did need a bit of powder over my t-zone throughout the day. This doesn’t  bother me at all as I’ll usually do this with other foundations too.

I 100% recommend this foundation. It’s the perfect foundation to wear if you are going to an event and there’ll be a lot of pictures taken. If you like a medium coverage with a sheer finish then you will love this foundation. I think this is a really beautiful product that creates an almost airbrushed look. It’s available in 25 shades so it will be easy to find a colour best suited to you.

Top Tips:

Try mixing with your favourite foundation for your perfect base! I tried mixing this foundation with my Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. The result was really stunning. Mixed together the coverage is full and the finish is sheer. It looked so good in pictures and it’s now my favourite base for special occasions and nights out. The great thing about mixing the two together is that it still has all the pros of the Make Up Forever HD and Estee Lauder.
